Red Barn Free Range Farms are a locally-based farm in George, Western Cape. They aspire to be as ethical, humane and sustainable as possible, and all the products they offer are free-range and local.
The Challenge The farm’s owner, Lindy, contacted us in 2020 to redesign their weekly newsletter, and supply and manage the content thereafter. She also asked us to provide monthly social media management.
The Solution Red Barn had already established a “tongue in cheek” tone of voice that they used as part of their brand identity. We loved their cheerful style and made sure that all of the new marketing material we created for them portrayed the same brand personality. Red Barn really values farm-to-fork products and supporting local small businesses, and these are features that we always strive to get across in our marketing output.
The Delivery From the initial redesign of the newsletter, we stayed true to the Red Barn brand identity. All images and copywriting we produce are aligned to their culture and evolve with the farm. We stay on top of changes at the farm, such as new products and additional animal personalities, and include these in our marketing materials.
The Result We always have fun with the creative for Red Barn, and our team find a lot of joy working on the brand. We have doubled their Instagram followers, and social media reach is up by 25%, compared to the same quarter last year (May-July). Our clients at Red Barn are happy to let us run with our ideas, and often approach us for ad-hoc design work.
