Jan has an extensive background in tourism, hospitality and logistics. The latter has seen him managing several remote location projects for the film industry, making him the perfect person to manage the operations for Unfound Africa’s remote destinations, such as our private island, Ilha do Fogo.

The island project called upon his full expertise including establishing infrastructure, communications, safety and security, medical support, transport, emergency plans, fresh water, food, accommodation, and waste management, while protecting the island’s habitat.

He is exceptionally skilled at compiling complex itineraries, fitting each destination and activity into the puzzle, while considering every eventuality. Jan’s passion for conservation, culture and wildlife is unmistakable in his role as one of Unfound Africa’s directors, ensuring that each destination strives to keep its footprint light.
